Call for Researcher(s)

MAKE and Craft Scotland are looking for researcher(s) to work on a research paper for MAKE | Learn, a new project focusing on craft education in Scotland.

MAKE | Learn is designed to strengthen Scotland’s craft sector, raise the profile of Scotland’s craft sector and develop engagement with Scotland’s craft sector by a diverse audience and user group.

The project has been developed within the framework of the MAKE: Manifesto which was launched in September 2019. MAKE is a manifesto for craft and a collective call for change, which sets out action points and recommendations that directly reflect the issues of makers living and working in Scotland.

MAKE | Learn is a new project, which explores the provision and development of craft education within Scotland’s primary and secondary schools. The Research Paper is the first of MAKE | Learn's two planned outputs and will be looking at best practice for craft education, which will provide evidence and context to support the second output, a pilot schools project which will take place from March 2021 to June 2021.
