The Stuart Hall Project, dir. John Akomfrah, UK 2013

Highly acclaimed at 2013’s Sundance and Sheffield Doc/Fest, John Akomfrah’s documentary is an absorbing tribute to cultural theorist Stuart Hall. Focusing on Hall’s life story, the documentary uses a montage of archival imagery and specially filmed material to explore Hall’s opinions on subjects such as identity, equality and culture.

The film was introduced by Steven Cairns and presented by Glasgow Film Theatre as part of their ‘Crossing the Line’ series.
