Letter press print
Presented as part of The Merchant City Festival 2011, O! and other letters was an exhibition and printshop created by typographer Edwin Pickstone.
At once an exhibition and a working case room, a printing press provided the focus of the installation alongside printed matter, including typographic works in progress. Pickstone produced one new poster design a day, setting type by hand, on a traditional letterpress printing press. A series of five new posters works were produced during the exhibition and added to the installation day by day.
